TheCHALLENGE
Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e. V. is a German non-profit and non-governmental organization dedicated to fighting global hunger and improving ecosystem resilience in rural Caribbean communities through the "Comunidades Caribeñas Resilientes" project. The primary challenge involved overcoming complex technical hurdles to integrate an interactive map that accurately visualizes environmental and social data while ensuring a seamless, high-performance user experience.
Research &STRATEGY
The strategy utilized a Multi-Actor Partnership to co-create development plans with local communities and international experts. By conducting vulnerability analyses across the Caribbean Biological Corridor, the research prioritized Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) solutions that align scientific data with the traditional knowledge of populations most affected by climate change.
DesignAPPROACH
The design transformed complex environmental data into a human-centric digital experience focused on transparency and connectivity. Through a custom interactive map and a clean aesthetic, the approach simplifies navigation and highlights tangible reforestation results, ensuring stakeholders can easily engage with the project’s mission of building climate resilience.
